The 9 miles between us and the M6 Motorway J41 is Wide and Straight, (approx. 15 minutes).
If you follow the directions below, you won't go wrong.
It is our experience, that some clients arrive to the site who consistently use Sat-Nav instead of a map and the road signs, actually don't know where they are when they get here, in relation to the fells, towns/villages and Lake District in General.
Some of them have actually admitted to us that they don't actually own a map.
Our question to them has got to be, Why?
If you follow the directions below, you won't go wrong.
SAT-NAV WARNING :-
Please, DO NOT RELY ON SAT-NAV
for the final leg (2 miles) of your journey.
(a) Do not enter the destination as "Riverside Tourer Park",
or you will be guided off coarse down a small road
which is far too small and very unsuitable for Caravans & Motorhomes,
also
(b) Do not enter the destination post code,
or YOU WILL OVERSHOOT US
and potentially get lost. (One out of every three 1st time clients using Sat-Nav does).
You will then need to turn round, which won't be easy with a caravan on the back.
(GPS has our village post code at an entrance to a farmers field 1/4 mile beyond our actual location).
Please just follow our simple directions further down the page, watch out for the signs,
then you won't go wrong.
So, please follow our directions and the signs for the last 2 miles. The route is so straight forward, but using Sat-Nav severely aggrivates it's simplicity.
TOP-TIP.
If you really do need to use Sat-Nav instead of a map and the road signs, rather than entering the destination Post code, enter the destination village name:- "MILLHOUSE".
DO NOT ENTER THE DESTINATION NAME AS :- "Riverside Tourer Park" or you will have to endure a mile of very narrow single track road.
(Remember, you need to turn left in MILLHOUSE, as shown on the aerial photo below).

Route from J41 of M6
This map shows the access road B5305, from M6 Junction 41. (8.5 miles).
(approximately 15 minutes)
(a) Leave M6 at J41, onto B5305 for 6.5 miles, (sign posted Wigton).
(b) In 6.5 miles turn left at sign Hesket Newmarket / Caldbeck, C2045)
Look out for the "RIVERSIDE" sandwich board next to the road sign, just before this junction.
(c) In 2 miles, (in the Hamlet of MILLHOUSE) turn left at Village Hall & Telephone box.
Look out for the "RIVERSIDE" sandwich board, next to the MILLHOUSE & 30mph signs, just before village, which instructs you to turn left in MILLHOUSE.
(d) Site on Right in 250 yards
This Aerial view shows the junction in MILLHOUSE
at which you you need to turn left.
Even though there is an authentic sign post at this junction, for some reason first time clients are fooled into thinking this turning is into a "Cul-de-sac". "It's NOT".
Also SATNAV falsely guides you past this junction.
